Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your medical care may cost before you receive services at United Vascular of Huntsville. This estimate helps you understand your expected healthcare expenses and avoid unexpected charges.

What Is a Good Faith Estimate?

A Good Faith Estimate is a breakdown of expected costs for medical services provided to patients who are uninsured or not using insurance.

This estimate includes reasonably expected charges for items and services related to your care.

Who Can Receive a Good Faith Estimate?

You are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate if you:

  • Do not have health insurance
  • Choose not to use your insurance for a scheduled service

What to Expect

When you schedule a service, you have the right to request a written estimate in advance.

Your Good Faith Estimate will include:

  • Expected charges for the scheduled procedure or service
  • Related medical services, items and supplies
  • Costs from the facility and any known providers involved in your care

Important Information

  • The Good Faith Estimate is not a final bill
  • Actual costs may vary based on your care needs
  • Additional services may be required that are not included in the estimate

If your final bill is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the charges.
